Travel to North Uist is via Calmac Ferries.  The main port in North Uist is at Lochmaddy, you can get there from Uig on the Isle of Skye. In the North of the Western Isles is Berneray and in South Uist is Lochboisdale.

There is also an airport at Benbecula, which is served by Glasgow and Stornoway.  Car hire can be from Askcarhire.

 

On the Island you can drive over the causeways from Berneray in the North to Erisky in the South.  You can isle hop to Harris, Lewis and others, via Calmac.
